Winn in June 2023
Winn in June 2023

Created by Schwede66 (talk). Self-nominated at 19:16, 15 June 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Keaton Winn; consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.[reply]

  • New enough (created June 13) and long enough (over 4,000 characters). Article is generally well written, appears policy compliant, and extensively sourced. Hook is interesting, short enough, and supported by in-line citation. QPQ present. Cbl62 (talk) 15:04, 20 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't know if this recently added photo is interesting enough to include, but I post it here for your consideration. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:59C9:5323:D81C:E049 (talk) 19:32, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • FYI, I've added the photo with the correct markup for a DYK nomination. I've had a look whether the photo is legit and see that the uploader produces high-quality photos of baseball players at a great rate, so the licensing is all good. But given that I'm technically the nominator, somebody else should reconfirm that. Schwede66 21:50, 26 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Schwede66: Seems like we missed an opportunity to say ALT1:... that in his Major League Baseball debut Keaton Winn got the win? ALT0 is perhaps even more interesting. In any event I like the image and it looks to be as you say. Bruxton (talk) 01:16, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, Bruxton – I'm the wrong person to discuss these options with as I don't understand baseball in the first place. Given that it's not been promoted to prep yet (and the photo needs a formal tick as well), there seems to be all the chance to consider ALT1. Schwede66 05:12, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bruxton: - I think the original hook is far hookier. Alt 1 is far, far more commonplace, and therefore of lesser hookiness. Thanks. (btw, I'm the same IP who proposed it). 2603:7000:2101:AA00:C080:AB33:1484:73A1 (talk) 18:38, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cbl62: can you look at the added image and approve so that the nomination and image can be promoted? Bruxton (talk) 15:46, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the image is at Commons with a license under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International, so it could be used in the lead spot if the prep creator concludes that the hook and photo are strong enough to warrant that. Cbl62 (talk) 16:44, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm the hook creator, and I so conclude. Thanks to all. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:6C85:CA1C:6C32:129E (talk) 23:50, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
