  • While new enough and with proper in-line citations and no QPQ has to be done since this is your first DYK nomination, there's one major issue that makes me have to fail this outright. The article is just shy of 700 characters long and, thus, nowhere near the minimum 1500 character length requirement to pass DYK. There is significant improvement required to reach this threshold, hence why I went with a no tick, rather than a query or maybe tick option. If you can manage to increase the article's prose size (in a proper manner matching reliable source coverage and not just the addition of puffery information) by the 25th, then let me know here and I can do a re-review. Otherwise, apologies, but this article doesn't meet the minimum requirements. SilverserenC 21:49, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Silver seren: I've tried to fix that. I suspect @Marquardtika: may not have known how to use a ref several times, but it was a great start. I hope Marquardtika likes the changes and feels empowered to edit and improve it. Victuallers (talk) 22:45, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
A question I have regarding your Alt hook suggestion, Victuallers, is that it actually sounds kind of negative toward the subject, what with leaving her children behind. Was that the intent meant with it? SilverserenC 23:09, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I thought that too and then I thought would I think it was negative if the hook said "Dr Spock left his children at home when he wrote books about Parenting"? Lots of people leave their children at home while they work ... but go one, I don't want to offend anyone so I have rephrased it. Victuallers (talk) 23:59, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Victuallers: That sounds better. Are you against including Panera Bread instead of cafe? It makes the hook sound a bit more funny and interesting, but would that make it promotional? SilverserenC 00:12, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My thought was that I dont know what a Panera Bread is, although I guess it may be the US upmarket Greggs - I had been thinking about linking it in - so I have. Victuallers (talk) 09:58, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alt2 added Victuallers (talk) 14:49, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Approve Alt2 Okay, I think that one will work. Doing this all again, article is new enough, now long enough at almost 3000 characters, and has in-line citations. The hook is short enough, interesting, and cited in-line. No QPQ is required due to this being their first nomination. Good to go. SilverserenC 16:28, 22 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Message for Kate[edit]

Hello, Kate! (2601:987:301:C80:A4A6:8C5A:17C0:BCDB) I've removed what you wrote on the DYK nomination page, since that isn't really a good place to talk. You are correct that information added to Wikipedia article require an external reference. Though for basic biographical information like that you listed (maiden name, birthday, ect), we can use a primary source such as the subject. But it has to actually be written down somewhere that can be referenced. Does your website have an about page that includes such info? SilverserenC 16:43, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kate you said "Hi, this is Kate. I have no idea how to use this template. WikiWomenInRed directed me here. I am happy to provide accurate information, though I believe it must come from a third party. My real name is Kathrine Baer (maiden name Baker). My birthday is 3.31.85. My list of press is here: https://www.katebaer.com/press."
Kate, here! is a fine place to talk, just type below. Wikipedia won't use ppl or their blogs or emails or facebook pages as reliable sources. They need a reliable 3rd party source (like the NYTimes or the BBC) to say the information. This avoids people lying/misrepresenting their age, their mate's space trips, their parent's encounters with aliens etc etc. It also meand that we should only write about notable people because the BBC may have mentioned my name .... but they never reported my life story.
