Fraternities and Sororities Mid‑importance

	Kappa Psi is part of the Fraternities and Sororities WikiProject, an effort to build a comprehensive and detailed guide to Greek Life on the Wikipedia. Notability[edit]

I am fairly certain that this organization does not meet the notability guidelines. In a fairly exhaustive search of the internet, I found 2 books on the history of the organization that look to have been self published (or at least commissioned by the organization), and a half dozen mentions in articles like the one that I added as a source. I also found a description of the fraternity in an old issue of the University of California College of Pharmacy internal publication. While the histories look like they might be good sources for information (they seem to have been professionally made), they are not good sources for notability (because they are not independent of the fraternity). There does not seem to be any significant mention of this organization in media of more than local scope. Rockphed (talk) 13:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rockphed And that can get tricky for *most* of the honoraries. A search for "Kappa Psi" pharmaceutical gets over 178,000 hits including information at apparently over 100 colleges. It is also in most editions of Baird's Manual of American College Fraternities which is an encyclopedia of Greek Letter Organizations which was put out about every 10 years.Naraht (talk) 16:22, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder how many of those hits are for "Kappa Psi [other letter]" or "[other letter] Kappa Psi" fraternities/sororities or for "kappa psi" and the previous variations on chapters of other organizations. I think if we can source some of the information in this article to Baird's, that will cover notability. Then we can source the history to the published histories. I just have no idea where to even find copies of any of the books.Rockphed (talk) 17:52, 12 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Pharmaceutical to the search, very, very few overlaps. The only superset fraternity that springs to mind is Kappa Kappa Psi, which is Band and Music. Is your question where to find editions of Baird's Manual, I have 8 of the 11 editions created since 1910 on the bookshelf less than 5 feet from where I'm sitting. :)Naraht (talk) 01:24, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
