Official website?[edit]

http://kalinagopeople.com/index.php?pageid=1&menuid=1 appears to be dead now. Don't know if this is temporary, if they are moving to a different URL, or what. postdlf (talk) 19:57, 7 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be dead, if it ever actually existed. Have removed it.2405:6581:7E0:1000:F08C:1935:2FFF:B571 (talk) 00:57, 9 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Intro[edit]

The first paragraph (and other parts of the article) are pretty problematic. The reservation isn't for "descendents of the Caribs", it's for the existing population that identifies as Carib or Kalinago. There are many people in Dominica who are descendents of the Caribs but don't identify as Caribs.--Cúchullain t/c 12:16, 23 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Carib TerritoryKalinago TerritoryNaming conventions. News coverage clearly indicates the name is now Kalinago Territory. For example: https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/news/skerrit-announces-70-million-road-improvement-project-for-kalinago-territory/ DoSazunielle (talk) 13:43, 5 October 2020 (UTC) DoSazunielle (talk) 13:43, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment Per Per Wikipedia's naming policy, our choice of name does not automatically follow the official or local form, but depends on that change having become predominant in common global usage. in the naming conventions cited above, I did a search in July 2020. At that time it could go either way but it wasn't clear-cut. The decision to move should be based on what has changed since then - have almost all uses since July been with the new name? Is the new name "predominant in common global usage" yet? If so, then it should be moved, if not, then maybe wait until 2021. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 15:37, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply I'm not sure about your interpretation of the standard in the comment above. But if we are to take it at face value, compare these news searches for Kalinago territory and the current page name since July 1. The latter is clearly not in use for reporting, which significantly reflects and shapes "common global usage". DoSazunielle (talk) 17:43, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
