Naming convention[edit]

What's going on? Is there a good reason why 'Kaleen' is named as simply 'Kaleen' when every other suburb / division name with the ACT is named as 'suburb, Australian Capital Territory'?

If there is some consensus that 'Australian Capital Territory' is not required, then why has this not been applied to all other ACT suburb names (other than those which need it - like Gordon, Kingston, Stirling, Parkes etc) ? MartinL-585 (talk) 23:08, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There is a consensus that disambiguation is generally not required for Australian suburbs and they should be handled according to Wikipedia:Disambiguation. Almost all Canberra suburbs were handled under a previous consensus applied to Australian geographical names which has long been abandoned. Suburbs in Australia are moved individually applying the principles of Wikipedia:Disambiguation but it has been agreed there will be no mass moves. Kaleen is an obvious appropriate case for the move since there are no other Kaleens.--Grahame (talk) 00:21, 25 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
