Multiple spellings

Tidiest way to handle the different spellings: I've moved this page to a new one for the primary spelling Kakazai, and have made #redirect pages for Kakezai, Kakay Zai and Kakayzai. Tearlach 19:35, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

Verification etc

Tag added because the text comes direct from an unverified blog post. I assume the poster wrote it, so there's no copyvio. Images of a book in Urdu aren't wildly helpful to readers of an English encyclopedia: can it be translated amd summarised? Tearlach 22:21, 15 August 2005 (UTC)

BTW please don't remove the cleanup tags. These show other editors what work needs doing. Tearlach 02:41, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

'Verification'

Thanks for the tip (s).

I wrote that post/article to educate people about Kakazai/Kakezai Pathan Tribe which is a non-English ethnicity. I am the copyright holder/owner.

Those images are THE SOURCES and for those people who understand Urdu and I made sure of that in description which I posted along-with the post/article/images.

Don't worry... I will take care of that page.

Should you have any question then please feel welcome to contact me @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:McKhan

So is Tazkara (I've seen it called Tazkira-e-pathan - which is better?) the source for the information? If so, it can be cited as a reference: author, date, publisher, etc. Tearlach 03:18, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

Cleanup

Bsic cleanup done. Needs a bit of sourcing, some of the references being just web pages without independent verification. Tearlach 12:11, 17 August 2005 (UTC)

Disputed material

Reverted edits by 213.48.73.94 to last version by Tearlach 16:06, 17 August 2005 McKhan

The standard procedure is to move disputed material to Talk page pending verification. I've asked 213.48.73.94 (talk · contribs)
They are possibly descended from or related to the Ghilzai Pashtuns as well as Punjabi and Balochi groups they have intermingled with over time.
They appear to have arrived in South Asia during Afghan invasions, such as those of Mahmud of Ghazni, and settled in various regions in and near what is today Pakistan. They most likely were somehow related to the Ghilzai Pashtuns many of whom accompanied Turkic tribes during the Islamic conquests that led to the Delhi Sultanate (see the Lodhi dynasty for further details). As a result, it is quite probable that the Kakazai are a Pathan group that has substantially intermingled with Indian populations over the centuries and have largely lost the Pashto language of their ancestors, at least for the most part. This would explain their self-identification as 'Pathans' as opposed to the Pashtuns of western Pakistan and Afghanistan.

I have flagged a section of your additions as a copyright violation of the source you listed, http://www.dawn.com/2004/09/05/fea.htm#2. Please do not copy and paste directly from other sites. you are more than welcome to use that site as a reference, but rewrite it in your own words. Additionally, many of the additions you are making need verifiable references added, or they may be removed. Turgan Talk 06:16, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Layout Changes

I edited this page several times, altering the layout, organizing it better and (in my opinion) making it more presentable than before. Won't be doing further edits on layout. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MisterT234 (talkcontribs) 14:27, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

A forum is not a reliable source as per the Wikipedia guidelines nor most of the Kakazai personalities mentioned in the list has been verified. Thank you. McKhan (talk)

Clarification

This article is misleading as it states "Kakazai" as a Pashtun tribe which is simply incorrect information. Through the attached documentation it is clear that Kakazai is a sub-tribe of Mamund, which itself is a sub-division of Tarkani tribe, whereas this sub-clan is so big and spread out it can classify as a tribe of its own, at its core it still remains a sub-tribe. This lack of adequate referencing within the wider picture and false tribe status has left to much confusions such as Kakazai being dubbed a Punjabi or "Malik" clan and descended of Kalal, so I edited this page a little (adding a passage) acknowledging Tarkani and Mamund, I basically just put in typed format what is already contained within in the attached images. other than the passage I added to the list of "notable Kakazai". I will not be doing further edits. Thanks.

I have clarified further along-with adding some more sources. Thank you. McKhan (talk) 06:48, 23 April 2013 (UTC).
Malik Meraj Khalid Awan was AWAN by caste. He had no son and had adopted his niece son Malik Zubair Awan as his own son. They live near WAGHA BORDER in LAHORE. Awans are direct descendants of Hazrat Ali the 4th caliph of Islam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rashad Munawar Khan (talkcontribs) 13:44, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
As I have already explained that your "clarification" is not enough under the Wikipedia guidelines as you have not furnished any sort of verifiable source to corroborate with your edit. Please, don't add anymore personalities to this page as there is a dedicated page, List_of_Kakazai_people, for only NOTABLE personalities (NOT for every Tom and Joe). Thank you.
