Why is the name in italics while heading is not? It is not uniform in the text either.

Fixed. Both are italics.

Do not use citations in the lead. Use them only in main text.

Indeed. I moved some text and all sources from the lead into the main article. I had to move some text so that nothing in the lead appears unsourced/unsupported in the main article.

It should have been Vedic meter, wikified and added explanation
