Major improvements

• First off, I look on the website and see that the station is partnered with a Yuma AM called KBLU. These two stations have some type of relation, looking at the calls KSWT has had; looking further on KBLU-AM and KSWT would help.
• We need the CW KSWT logo and a non-background KSWT CBS logo (I've knocked on the GM's email door before, so I'm knocking again to get those)
• KSWT seems to be connected to "beyondthetv.com", which is very prominently linked in the banner. If we could get more info on that, that would help our article.
• If we can do this, I'm seriously thinking about this becoming a GA. KWBQ, which is as good as this, failed (sources), so if we could get some sources, we could get this to GA. TTV|talk|contribs|email 03:37, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

• On the KBLU note, they were owned by the same company and operated from the same facility at one point (ala the 70's). However the radio side was spun off at one point and is now one of three local Clear Channel stations (which are in the process of selling). Their relationship now is just KSWT providing brief news and weather reports for the radio stations. The Beyond the TV thing looks to be a site where sponsors can have links to their site, and it provides some games, coupons, etc. Like a site that could be customized for various stations. Adelphia / Time Warner Dispute

KSWT trivia

Because trivia sections are discouraged on Wikipedia, I have moved two of the three trivia points here (I was able to incorporate notable alumni in another part of the article). If anyone can find a way to incorporate these points into the article, please do, although frankly, I'm not sure the average reader would find these informative. Interesting, maybe, but not informative.

• Until February 2008, KSWT's newscasts were produced using a Grass Valley 1600 switcher originally used for production of The Love Boat.
• KSWT was the last English-language station in the market to sign-off (though only in the weekends, when Up To The Minute from CBS is not seen). Beginning in late April 2007, KSWT began showing infomercials during late-night hours on weekends.

Also KBLU/KYEL was on UHF channel 52 for Indio/Coachella, Cal. viewers, the locals there used to joke about KBLU was the channel "Hee Haw" was on. The title "Blue" was more related to ABC radio and television networks when it was called "the Blue Network". The Coachella Valley never had a local CBS affiliate until 1992-99 and again with KPSP-LP channel 38 or "Local2" since 2002.

I recall reading a passage on a book The 1970 California Almanac had a two-page listing of TV and radio stations in California, but described the Yuma television stations serving the Imperial Valley as: 3-Spanish/Telesistema Mexico, 7-independent/Spanish, 9-CBS, 11-independent, 13-NBC and 14-PBS most likely a transmitter for KPBS or KVCR-TV. The two television channels 7 & 11 already went off-the-air, and channels 3 & 7 had Spanish-language programs, probably to serve Mexicali on the US-Mexican border. + 71.102.3.86 (talk) 03:25, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

The Desert Magazine Annual Issue from 1973 (but the information was dated 1969) had a listing of television stations "On cable systems serving the Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Indio areas" covered two TV stations I wasn't able to find on google or any search engine: 6 KEIV and 10 KOEQ, to me they are most likely Imperial Valley if not the Coachella Valley stations, but 8 KFMB from San Diego and the major affiliated (and then independent) L.A. stations was listed, and no mention of KMIR-TV 36 was listed, while 3 KPLM was on the list. In the 1970s, cable channel 12 was KVCR (PBS) san Bernardino-Riverside. The two independent stations on channels 7 and 11 may had simulcasted on 6 and 10 in the Palm Springs area. 71.102.21.238 (talk) 07:03, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

KSWT also has served as the call letters of an FM radio station in Topeka, Kansas. It played beautiful music for years and called itself "K-Sweet 108."192.127.94.7 (talk) 15:31, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in the article. Not including this type of material in articles abides by current consensus and is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
3. WP:NLIST tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). thanks Deconstructhis (talk) 04:21, 14 September 2010 (UTC)
