Question about whether this station is truly broadcasting HD content[edit]

A user has, several times, asserted that this station is broadcasting in HD. Please provide a citation to verify this fact. I would recommend that the references to HD be removed unless the user can provide verification of this assertion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmking (talkcontribs) 20:16, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kviqold.jpg[edit]

Image:Kviqold.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changes made by 67.121.230.54[edit]

I question the accuracy of the changes made to this page by 67.121.230.54. The material that was added, specifically the following, does not cite any sources and I know some of it to be inaccurate:

"If the already poor ratings get worse, it could become a repeater of KHSL-TV in Chico, California. All the other ETG stations are already now semi-satellites of their bigger Chico and Redding stations."

If there is no objection to the move I would propose that this information be removed until sources for the information can be provided. --Sjrr124 (talk) 06:28, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Citation Needed Tags[edit]

69.237.92.235 removed the citation needed tags that I placed in this article without an explanation as to why they were removed or citing any sources. I have reverted the page to the last edit before the tags were removed. If you are 69.237.92.235 I would appreciate it if you would either cite your sources or explain to me why you do not think the "Citation Needed" tag is required. Thank you.--Sjrr124 (talk) 21:24, 18 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of information without citations[edit]

Since it has been a week and nobody has disagreed with the removal of the text in question and the editor that added the material has not cited the sources of the material I am going to remove the unverifiable text. If anyone disagrees with this move please revet and post a reason here. Thank you. --Sjrr124 (talk) 19:14, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding unreferenced entries of former employees to lists containing BLP material[edit]

Hello, Please do not add unreferenced names as entries to the list of former employees in articles. Including this type of material in articles does not abide by current consensus and its inclusion is strongly discouraged in our policies and guidelines. The rationales are as follows:

  1. WP:NOT tells us, Wikipedia is "not an indiscriminate collection of information." As that section describes, just because something is true, doesn't necessarily mean the info belongs in Wikipedia.
  2. As per WP:V, we cannot include information in Wikipedia that is not verifiable and sourced.
  3. WP:Source list tells us that lists included within articles (including people's names) are subject to the same need for references as any other information in the article.
  4. Per WP:BLP, we have to be especially careful about including un-sourced info about living persons.

If you look at articles about companies in general, you will not find mention of previous employees, except in those cases where the employee was particularly notable. Even then, the information is not presented just as a list of names, but is incorporated into the text itself (for example, when a company's article talks about the policies a previous CEO had, or when they mention the discovery/invention of a former engineer/researcher). If a preexisting article is already in the encyclopedia for the person you want to add to a list, it's generally regarded as sufficient to support their inclusion in list material in another article. cheers Deconstructhis (talk) 15:35, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What channel is it?[edit]

This station brands using its digital channel, 17, rather than its historic analog and current virtual channel, 6. Does anyone know the point of this?

Unrelated WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia brands as digital channel 50, instead of its historic analog and virtual channel, 4. Its article claims that 50 is its virtual channel, but the FCC database disagrees.

The article for WLIO in Lima, Ohio claims that its digital channel, 8, is also its virtual channel, instead of its historic analog channel, 35. The FCC database disagrees, saying its virtual channel is 35.

Does KVIQ make a similar claim about its virtual channel?

Other stations which seem to do this share KVIQ's owner, Sainte Partners II, L.P. KCVU in Chico, California brands using digital 20, not historic and FCC virtual 30. KCVU's semi-satellite, KBVU in Eureka, brands using digital 28, not historic and FCC virtual 29. --Chaswmsday (talk) 15:04, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

KJRWKVIQ-LP – Requesting this article to be changed to KVIQ-LP because that where the CBS affiliate was moved to. After Northwest Broadcasting acquired the NBC affiliate KIEM-TV, Northwest place its CBS programming to a low-power station they own, K10FS and recalled it KVIQ-LP on RF Channel 14. The channel change & CBS programming move was mentioned in this article. Even the TitanTV guide list the station as virtual channel 14.1. The full-power station KJRW (now owned by Prime Cities Broadcasting) has since been silent. This request would be similar to moving WIFR to WIFR-LD, without making a separate article page since KJRW don't have any history. Csworldwide1 (talk) 06:22, 2 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
