Image:Kmirtiny.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. KMIR call sign[edit]

KMIR got its' call sign from El Mirador Hotel of Palm Springs, which is true. Another reason for the namesake was the television studio was located in Mirage Cove of Rancho Mirage (the city incorporated in the late 1970's) before annexation by Palm Desert in the early 1980's. If the Wikipedia entry said otherwise, I'll have to go with that. KMIR was also a call sign for an AM radio station back in the 1970's or 80's off-the-air. KMRJ-FM (99.5 mhz) a radio station also based in Rancho Mirage has no relation to KMIR-TV, nor has KRMJ or KCMJ 92.7 FM in the 1980's/early 90's. The digital conversion has not yet replaced channel 36 analog, which was converted to digital, and KRET-LP channel 45 analog was on UHF channel 6 for quite some time. + Mike D 26 (talk) 21:09, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

History: In the 1970s, KMIR had 2 hours of Spanish-language programming on weekday mornings, when there was less Spanish-language TV available in the Palm Springs area. It's no irony Entravision Communications who owns many Univision TV stations purchased KMIR in 2018. And KMIR purchased KRET-LP (MeTV, formerly Ion and Retro TV) as its third subsidiary after KPSE-LD. 67.49.85.100 (talk) 04:16, 29 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Station rebranded[edit]
