ceive and sieve[edit]

Re [1]: Seive and ceive differ in three letters, not just in one. It's receive, not recieve. And it's sieve, not seive. Therefore, we cannot say that sieve and receive have the same spelling pattern. Sieve has KIT, but chief (and other "ie" words) have FLEECE. The fact that receive also has FLEECE has nothing to dowith sieve, because ie is not the same as ei. Note also that Cieve means consonant+ieve, not cieve. Piaractus (talk) 14:49, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, you're right. I hadn't noticed the difference because "chief" was more clearly not right. I've used "believe" instead. Gordon P. Hemsley 17:40, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Category[edit]

I've changed the category from English phonology to English lexical sets (the latter as a subcategory of the former). If we're going to have 24+ such articles, it would make sense to group them together. Note that I've listed this article under it's (RP) IPA symbol. Jimp 11:53, 23 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
