Spelling of Fergie Olver[edit]

The proper spelling of the surname is Olver, not Oliver. His IMDb profile[1] and a Toronto Sun article from 2006[2] prove this. It is also spelled Olver in old Toronto Blue Jays media guides. --WAMCO1993 (talk) 23:26, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Youtube montage[edit]

Various websites are having debates over his questionable style of hosting. [3] [4] I wonder if and why noone cared about this in the 80s. Has Olver ever commented?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.180.235.32 (talk) 18:22, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree his behavior is really disturbing. However, authors need to be very careful about sourcing and choice of words if anything is to be added to the article in reference to it. Senor Vergara (talk) 22:01, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think we should perhaps wait until a notable source outside of Wikipedia mentions the kissing on so on before it is included in the article. Those are the guidelines for inclusion. ~ UBeR (talk) 02:54, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was on the front page of Digg[5] today. As of this posting it has been dugg 664 times. SAx (talk) 03:13, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This was the 80s people. Back then a dad could hold his daughter's hand and not be creepy. Keep in mind that the video also uses editing to make it more creepy than it is.Nimnoms (talk) 02:25, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen the video that's been floating around the internet and even though there is a lot of editing to heighten the creepiness that doesn't change the fact that he tried to inappropriately kiss little girls on the show and actually attempted to bribe one girl who looked visibly uncomfortable about the whole situation. Also when the lady called him a "dirty old man" he looked kind of proud of that title.Unknown61190 (talk) 19:06, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New York Post,[1] New York Magazine[2] and Toronto Life,[3] all have a article on this. 88.193.90.13 (talk) 11:27, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for these sources. I've added the creepiness/criticism to the article, and also added it to Fergie Olver's article. --Dan LeveilleTALK 00:44, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Got lost on the youtube rabbit hole and decided to add these videos, they all have the creepy talk show host being, well, creepy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdyByfVo9h0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pa0x0-A2tcw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiA5Z0czjyI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hg5dMoRK-c4 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Skepticalmiller (talkcontribs) 06:45, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • This is being discussed at the BLP noticeboard. I would remind everyone that BLP also applies to talk pages - I've removed some unsuitable comments and retitled this section. –xenotalk 19:24, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Blatant pedophilic overtones[edit]

It is very curious to see that this show's noted (and quite blatant) pedophilic overtones have not even been mentioned in the article. Why? 139.216.128.94 (talk) 02:55, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There were actually 690 episodes of Just Like Mom. The show's creator, Catherine Swing was the co-host for the entire run, including the first season with Stephen Young hosting. Change the section "Bonus round" to "End of the Game" and change the information from "The team with the highest score..." to "The team with the highest score won the game. Originally, the winning team received a prize package that was chosen by the producers before the show. This was later changed to a bonus round called Carousel Corner. In this round, the team..."146.168.233.244 (talk) 00:16, 15 October 2019 (UTC) 146.168.233.244 (talk) 00:16, 15 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
