2018 Indonesia earthquake[edit]

I am a user from WikiProject Earthquakes of other wikipedia, I am sorry that I do not know the policies and guidelines of the English Wikipedia. Which I want to point out is that I noticed an article called 2018 Indonesia earthquake, it is obvious that the article should be merged with 2018 Lombok earthquake, so I add a merge template into the article. But it seems like nobody noticed it. I hope someone can solve the problem. Theodore Xu (talk) 12:02, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing that out. It could probably be just replaced by a redirect, but with a name that could be used for another earthquake, it may be better to simply delete it. Mikenorton (talk) 12:49, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly the probabilty of an earthquake large enough to use "Indonesia" as a pointer instead of a region within is probably nil so redirection is probably good enough. Juxlos (talk) 14:08, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You're probably right, although that's how this one got created. There is nothing to merge in my opinion, so I will simply redirect it. Mikenorton (talk) 15:09, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Mikenorton (talk) 15:12, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Done. @Mikenorton and Juxlos: Thank you for your help ^_^. Theodore Xu (talk) 05:14, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Second quake[edit]

FYI, a stronger second earthquake just hit. Juxlos (talk) 12:13, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Foreshock[edit]

Is it possible to merge this foreshock to the main shock occurred yesterday?Cheers! (talk) 06:31, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think that these two events are sufficiently separated in time that they are best handled as two separate articles. Although they share a tectonic setting, they have their own specific damage and aftermath sections that would be difficult to combine. So possible, maybe?, preferable, almost certainly not.
