Untitled[edit]

This is the initial creation of a Jujitsu Techniques page per the main Jujitsu page. There was a suggestion to create a sub-page of Jujitsu techniques. [User:Hillcrestama]

I thought I'd kindly warn you!! This idea of a techniques pages is problematic Hillcrestama! This is because wiki being an encyclopaedia is affraid of publishing opinion about anything, especially if it is unsubstanciated. Someone is bound to see this page and rubbish it with NPOV disputes sooner or later. There are so many different schools of Jujutsu that very few readers will agree with your technique generalization. All will have their own way. Very few people know the biomechanics of technique well enough to substanciate their ideas. I have studied human biomechanics and used that disapline to alter my techniques. Some of the comments you made about hip throws for instance make bio mechanical sense, so I changed them. Problem is, even though my opinion is based on bio mechanics, its still NPOV. The only way wiki is going to allow comments on techniques is if you reference every NPOV comment, and then also reference oppossing ideas to give balance. As there are as many opposing ideas as their are schools, your techniques pages would be massive, and its hard to see the point of massive amounts of opinion. Perhaps its better in the long run if technique articles stick to simple descriptions of techniques..ie Throwing techniques are named after the circumvention point around which the throw is effected such as; hip type thows, shoulder thows, wrist throws etc. Giving these lists is not NPOV.

Also be very wary of giving technique advice on weapons defence to anyone. Neither Wiki, nor you wish to be sued because someone got shot after trying to do something they read about on wiki. Even when your teaching weapons defence, one should explain the risks clearly. Especially with guns and knives.
