"People" and "People with name"[edit]

Why are these not the same category? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.119.205.88 (talk) 07:06, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

They should be the same category, and having them separate led to one name being duplicated. I feel the hidden comment that some were called "Judas" (ie the people) and some always called "Judas XYZ" (people having name) to be somewhat specious and dependant upon context. Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved and redirected per request. Renaming Judas Iscariot to Judas would require a separate discussion. Favonian (talk) 18:11, 26 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

JudasJudas (disambiguation) – This should be redirect to Judas Iscariot, the primary meaning. Though there are multiple Buddhas, Buddha redirects to Gautama Buddha, not Buddha (disambiguation). Redtigerxyz Talk 14:14, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - "who was Judas?" gives only 1 answer. If this isn't a primary topic what is. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:20, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support this move. In fact, should Judas Iscariot be moved to Judas? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 15:32, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, clear primary topic for both reference and historical importance. bd2412 T 15:34, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: Even most of the links on that page depend in some way on Iscariot being THE Judas for all of Western history. Aristophanes68 (talk) 16:53, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support: For all the reasons given above, and also because it only makes sense to label disambiguation pages by the name. Evensteven (talk) 17:27, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Clearly the Judas with the greatest long-term significance, and also frequently referred to just by that name. Egsan Bacon (talk) 18:49, 19 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
