Since they are monocots, palms lack a cambium layer and hence cannot be said to have bark.

Etymology[edit]

The article Juba I of Numidia says that this plant was named after him, and provides a citation supporting that claim. Juba II (as stated in this article) seems a more likely source of the name, given his evidenced history of research in natural history and other fields, but I can't find any sources to support that. Use of quotation marks around common names of plant[edit]

I added bold to "Chilean wine palm" and "Chilean cocopalm" in the article's first sentence. Could anyone please tell me if I should remove the quotation marks around those words in that sentence?--Thylacine24 (talk) 13:13, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
