Untitled[edit]

We have a problem that most references to "Juan de Padilla", including the Spanish language Wikipedia, treat this as referring to the leader of the revolt of the Comuneros, "Juan López de Padilla". Should we turn this page into a disambiguation, or maybe even make the rebel leader the primary meaning of this name, with a "see also" to the explorer/missionary? Coffing incedent?[edit]

Why is there no mention of the fact that Padilla's coffin msteriously popped outof the ground several times in the church which he is buried? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.228.98.38 (talk) 01:38, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Died in Herington, Kansas?[edit]

The city history for Heringon states that he died in that area. This conflicts with Wikipedia. I don't know the answer...just reporting this issue. http://skyways.lib.ks.us/towns/Herington/history.html

|== Where was he born? ==

The article says two contradictory things: 1) he was born in Toledo, Spain, 2) he was Andalusian. The problem is that Toledo isn't even close to Andalucía. It's right square in the middle of Castile.

Thera's no article in him in the Spanish WP and I haven't done the research to clarify this. deisenbe (talk) 10:52, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not the same?[edit]

An IP address added the claim that Father Padilla in the coffin is not the same as this one back in 2015: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Juan_de_Padilla&diff=prev&oldid=683357055 . Well, if that's the case, this claim should be removed entirely and two separate articles made. But since this was added without any reference and would seem to entirely negate the rest, just removing it. Mentioning here on the talk page in case anyone knows more in the future about what this IP address was talking about. SnowFire (talk) 02:50, 22 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
