Untitled[edit]

The last paragraph altough accurate implies that the Kosma Family was subjected to several assination attempts by a nazi auxillary force operating in France. Since I'm not very much aware of the story of the Kosma Family I did not change anything but added two links witin wikipedia : - one to the "cross arrows" (Hungary) - one to what happened in august 44 (lot of opportunities to be wounded by bomb in north and south east France)

In Hungarian, it's common to place the surname before the first name - Ferenc Deak is known as Deak Ferenc, and so on. But is that enough to say that "Joseph Kosma was born Kozma József"? I think that's pretty confusing, if you consider that "Joseph" isn't really uncommon as a surname, the uninitiated may end up with the idea that he simply reversed surname and given name, with minor a spelling change while he was at it. By the same logic, we'd have to change László Moholy-Nagy, mentioned a few words after that, into Moholy-Nagy László etc. Proud Hungarians and Finno-Ugric scholars may be sensitive about this (I don't know if they are), but other than that I see no reason for this confusing practice. Yes, I agree. The reversal of given name and surname is a completely separate matter from changing the form and/or spelling of either of the names. All Hungarians have to put up with their names being reversed in most other countries, just as those from other countries have to acquiesce to the Hungarian custom when in Hungary. What Kosma did went beyond this: József was changed to Joseph, and Kozma was changed to Kosma. This is the point we're trying to get across, and using the Hungarian surname-given name order is simply a red herring in this context, and confusing. --- JackofOz (talk) 02:17, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to say that but as real hungarian i have to say we are using the original name order for every non-hungarian in hungary so that's why we expect the same back. So we never says Washington George but George Washington so if he WAS hungarian his name was Kozma József.
