Vachal's later years[edit]

The previous version of Vachal's later yearss seemed questionable on a number of accounts, such as that it related his later years in rhetorical terms, e.g. that Vachal "refused to allow the communists to prepare any exhibition of his works, although they tried to get him to collaborate with them." First of all, during the last years of Vachal's life everybody from Vaclav Havel to Josef Skvorecky were getting published at this time (the 1960s), so does that mean that Havel was thereby collaborating with the communists? And, considering the fact that such well known anti-communists as Havel and Skvorecky were getting published at this time, why did Vachal refuse any exhibitions if he really was cast into such a desperately poor situation that he was reduced to drinking melted snow water to survive (this is a very odd reference, I'm not aware of any dissidents who were cut off from the public water supply!). In fact, the whole scenario presented is very odd and since it has no references I have eliminated it and, in its place, translated and placed the relevant section of Vachal's entry in the Czech Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.90.1.18 (talk) 20:11, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
