Useless equation[edit]

Why does this article need a general physical equation? How does it add anything?

Suck?[edit]

Why is this article so crappy? -- Chris is me (u/c/t) 05:39, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A picture would help. Of course, actually doing something to help the article would be better than either of us just criticizing it. :) -Midnightdreary 17:16, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soda Spinoff?[edit]

Does anyone remember a short-lived line of Jolly Rancher flavored sodas? They were pretty yummy and tasted really good. Would be good to mention them too. Bognan72 (talk) 19:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline[edit]

I changed the "Notes" section to "References" and moved the time line up. Faethon Ghost (talk) 16:21, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure plagiarism isn't allowed on Wikipedia but I don't know everything. The Timeline was copied and pasted off of Hershey's website for Jolly Rancher. 74.199.14.43 (talk) 20:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. I removed the timeline. Dreamyshade (talk) 00:36, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Factory closure and relocation after hershey acquisition[edit]

I think that the article should include the location and any other information on the factory in Arvada Colorado. I visited it in the late 90s while they were still owned by Leaf (I remember the Leaf flag flying at the building). Following the acquisition the factory was closed and production was moved to Canada (I believe) where it continues today. Additionally, the candies changed shape after the relocation, from rectangular to more of a circular shape (similar legnth and wrapper). Not sure if they still make the long flat ones, but I remember having those as a kid. I was also told by my cousin (but cannot confirm) that the factory, at one time, would sell JR by the brick (or a larger size). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lucaq (talkcontribs) 23:50, 2 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the above. I remember Jolly Ranchers being made differently in the past (late 80's/early 90's).

Before they were perfectly rectangular, individually sealed, and coated with a light (coconut?) wax. It was obvious that they were made individually in molds.

Now they are rounder, in open wrappers, and without the wax coating. Also, they often have rough edges, sharp corners and small pieces. It's obvious that they are extruded through something and then cut. Additionally the lack of wax coating and the open wrappers cause them to become a sticky gooey mess if not eaten within a month of opening the main package because the hard sugar is a hydrophile (adsorbs water from the air).

Has anyone else noticed these manufacturing changes? --GlowBee (talk) 23:34, 16 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I remember in the mid 80's they were flat, about an inch wide and about 4" long. I used to crawl under the fence after we got off the schoolbus at school and walk over to the convenient store and buy them for 10 cents each and sell them in class for 25 cents each. They were flat like a plank. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.48.7.247 (talk) 23:32, 9 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Longer Article[edit]

The article is not long enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Computer444 (talkcontribs) 13:32, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What else can you say about such a simple piece of candy? Creating a long article just for the sake of having a long article is nonsensical.

Perhaps making sure it is COMPLETE with all the flavors would be a start.

CINNAMON FIRE[edit]

Is CINNAMON FIRE supposed to be in all capitals? Corporal Hawke (talk) 00:57, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yep with an exclamation point so it would be CINNAMON FIRE! Porygon-Z (talk) 03:09, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pink Lemonade?[edit]

There is a LOT missing from this article. No mention at all of Pink Lemonade, which they even bill as an "original flavor" for their lollipops, which, unfortunately, is the only place to get that flavor now since they don't have them for the regular candies like they used to.67.251.115.255 (talk) 14:00, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Flavors and neatness[edit]

I have seen The pineapple flavor but you should mention that it has a red wrapper. Also you should list the flavors vertically. It just looks better. Porygon-Z (talk) 03:04, 2 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nutritional value column[edit]

The "nutritional value" column in the table is quite silly. It takes up by far the most of the vertical space, repeating pretty much the same information over and over. Most (but not exactly all) of the values are pretty much identical for every variety. The exact same footnotes are repeated on every row. Is this column really needed?
