Does anyone know the exact date of closure? More history about the Jolly family.

I am The jollys decendent although my name is not jolly now its Smith. I dont know when the buses closed since i am only 13! My mum is matthew Jollys Daughter. Me and my family no longer live in Sunderland although the jollys will die out soon since there are 2 left as matthew jolly had two girls and i am a girl we have know chance ! Ken Jolly my grandads brother is still alive. Thanks for your help. This is very interesting information, although I'm not sure how helpful it would be to the article without a little more historical detail. What we really need is some sort of publication that talks about it. This is probably asking a bit much, but do you know if you or someone in your family would know where we could find one? hmmmm well william h Jolly started it there are still some jolly buses around but there not accturacly drivin any more. you could get in touch with them . My grandad still lives in south hylton.
