I'll take on this review, as part of the July 2021 Backlog Drive.

Lead[edit]

  • [John Fulton Woods (January 18, 1898 – October 4, 1946) was a professional baseball pitcher.] I'd suggest adding "... and police officer". I appreciate that it's his MLB appearance that makes him pass Wikipedia notability standards, but his law enforcement career seems to have been as big a part of his life.
  • [during his career ...] Capitalise "During".

College[edit]

  • [After completing East River,] I'd expect "completing high school" rather than "completing {name of high school}", but disregard if you're confident this phrasing is commonly used.

Minor league career[edit]

  • [Woods would not pitch in the major leagues for Boston] I'd add "again" since he did do so once previously.

Norfolk Police Department[edit]

Personal life[edit]

  • [The Woods's had three children] I think this should be "Woodses", based on this article.[1]

Summary[edit]

  • Just a few minor points - I'll await your response on the above.--Harper J. Cole (talk) 16:50, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
    • Looking good! I'll promote to GA status. It's interesting to read about these less-celebrated figures; nice work on this article.--Harper J. Cole (talk) 20:25, 17 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
