Move proposal[edit]
Can we move this article from John O'Leary (poet) -> John O'Leary (fenian) he is better known for his activities in the Fenian Movement.--Padraig (talk) 19:45, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeh, I will be expanding this article over the comming days, and would like the move as it is the fact that he was notable not as a poet (as such) but as a Fenian. --Domer48 (talk) 20:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Should "Fenian" not be capitalised? ie: John O'Leary (Fenian) Alice✉ 02:41, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes. --Domer48 (talk) 08:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- It should indeed well spotted Alice. BigDunc (talk) 09:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Why not cover all the bases and move it to John O' Leary (Fenian poet)? ;) One Night In Hackney303 10:52, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
The reason John O' Leary (Fenian poet) would not work is because J. K. Casey, is known as the Fenian poet, and I have some edits for him as well, but good suggestion. --Domer48 (talk) 13:07, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Disappointing that he does not have his own article - or am I looking in the wrong places? Alice✉ 15:51, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Support move to John O'Leary (Fenian). BastunBaStun not BaTsun 17:55, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Support move -> John O'Leary (Fenian). Alice✉
Support move to John O'Leary (Fenian). --Domer48 (talk) 22:25, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Seeing as there have been no objections to this move proposal I think we can safely move it to John O'Leary (Fenian).--Padraig (talk) 19:08, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Moved.--Padraig (talk) 23:07, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Expand sections[edit]
I will expand the sections over time with material from the IRB related articles. --Domer48 (talk) 14:17, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Monarchist or republican?[edit]
The initial description list O'Leary as an Irish republican. This seems to be a catch-all term for anyone who wishes to see the political seperation of Ireland form the United Kingdom, however in the Political Views section it describes him as a monarchist. These are contradictory terms. It would be better to describe O'Leary from the outset as a separatist rather than a republican. Milzo1986 (talk) 10:25, 25 May 2022 (UTC)
