Redirect to John Hennigan[edit]

  • As there are 20+ people on Wikipedia known as John Morrison it doesn't seem clear that the wrestler John Hennigan should be the primary topic. Tassedethe (talk) 12:03, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move?[edit]

Not moved. Dab pages do not need to have (disambiguation) in the title. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:03, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

John MorrisonJohn Morrison (disambiguation)

  • Since there are others named John Morrison also, though the wrestler is the best known of the bunch, I feel it is best to direct them to a direct dab page for a cleaner search result.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 15:33, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • This is not the norm; see, for example, John Smith. John Smith (disambiguation) redirects there. Unless you are proposing that John Morrison (wrestler) be moved to John Morrison? –CWenger (^@) 16:27, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • In both of these examples, neither has the dab context after it, although it is clear that is what they are, no?   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 17:19, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm not sure I understand what you want to do. If there is no primary topic, the disambiguation page is placed at the undisambiguated title. The convention is that there is no need to put "(disambiguation)" after it in these cases. So if that's what you are recommending I would advise against it for the sake of consistency. If you are recommending the wrestler be moved to John Morrison and the others moved to John Morrison (disambiguation), that is likely to be controversial so you should probably post a move discussion. –CWenger (^@) 17:26, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • I didn't realize it would be controversial, I was just trying to make things look more accurate, but if that's not how it works, then I withdraw my request.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 14:33, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
