Untitled[edit]

I think he is the same Sir John Moore who was Lord Mayor of London in 1681 [1] --at least the dates are right, and all the other John Moore MPs I have found, or sir John Moores, are from a later period. I'll be checking. There are in any cases good sources for the one who was mayor [2],[3] but it would be better to check first.

and so he is--he's even in the DNB. I gave the basics; there's more to be said (I did not yet check the new DNB.) DGG ( talk ) 04:27, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Question: he was MP and Lord Mayor of London--which of these do we use for the article title? I suggest Lord Mayor, as there were other MPs by the same name. I've moved it accordingly, but if it should be the other way, just move it back. I made links from our existing article on the Grammar School he founded, which I found by searching Wikipedia. Images[edit]

I've added a couple of images here, and although they may look like they overwhelm the text right now, I added them with the expectation that the text will grow and fill out around them. MarmadukePercy (talk) 19:27, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Links to slave trade[edit]

I've made a few edits to reflect that Moore was heavily involved in the slave trade in several capacities, and referenced them. DrThneed (talk) 09:14, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
