Re The Prospect, Ross[edit]

One detail needs checking about The Prospect at Ross, the land of which Kyrle is stated to have rented from the Marquess of Bath (sic) in 1696. There were no Marquesses of Bath - the title was not created until later the next century, for the Thynne family of Longleat - but there was an Earl of Bath of the Granville family. If it was belonging to the Thynne family, the titled head would have been Viscount Weymouth, whose descendants were elevated to the Marquessate of Bath.Cloptonson (talk) 14:44, 28 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
