Template[edit]

There doesn't have to be a template since all it's info is in the article.

Related to Joe DiMaggio?[edit]

Can someone find out if this guy is related to Joe DiMaggio or not? 72.76.181.118 (talk) 20:26, 25 June 2008 (UTC) Rock On![reply]

Joe DiMaggio only had one son, Joe, Jr., who died in 1999. I doubt there's any other relation; I haven't found anything to suggest as such. White 720 (talk) 23:01, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I remember reading an interview with him when Futurama first appeared and he said he wasn't a relation.Darwin-rover (talk) 19:11, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christianity[edit]

I've just removed the category "American Christians" from this article - for the second time. That it's been posted twice leads me to think that DiMaggio may well be a Christian; does anyone have any source for this? Darimoma (talk) 13:31, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He's not Wikipedia notable for his religious beliefs per WP:CATEGRS and WP:NON-DEFINING AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:29, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday?[edit]

One part says September 4th one says September 6th. Which is correct? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.8.212.254 (talk) 14:41, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grievous?[edit]

I don't see his work on the Clone Wars 2-D cartoon credited. He did a growling voice for General Grievous far superior to what was heard in the movie. 153.2.246.32 (talk) 00:28, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Young Justice[edit]

DiMaggio is listed as the voice for Darkseid and Lobo in Young Justice. But neither of them has made an appearance yet. Is there any verification for him playing the two in the future? 72.64.82.175 (talk) 18:36, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Summary[edit]

The opening brief summary about him mimes almost all thet is said in the Career section of the page; should something be changed? Harbingerofsorrow (talk) 22:21, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Guild Wars 2[edit]

I don't see any mention of his voice acting for Guild Wars 2. He voiced a character named Canach, as well as a series of Norn and Human NPCs. Here is the relevant IMDb page. I would edit the table myself, but I'm worried I'll mess something up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:1C1:8803:4F37:4DF1:92BB:2FD2:A8F9 (talk) 22:33, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Italian origins?[edit]

His surname sounds Italian (Sicilian?).--21:56, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Revisiting birthday[edit]

DiMaggio birthday tweets:

August 10 is NOT his birthday:

The birthday seems to be in September: It's either the 3rd or 4th, likely 4th, but the year is not posted, and would need another source. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 02:14, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WP:DOB applies in this case.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:18, 23 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in John DiMaggio[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of John DiMaggio's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "iTunes":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:39, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

John DiMaggio filmography edits[edit]

Please note that you can only cite Behind The Voice Actors (http://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/John-DiMaggio/) if the credit has a green checkmark leading to a screen shot of the closing credits for the show. If the role is not confirmed this way, you cannot add it to the filmography without providing another reliable source. For example, his work on Kim Possible does not have a check mark, but his work on Spider-Man (2017) does have check marks. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 04:09, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is goddamn ridiculous. You’re denying the most basic of research just because of a CHECKMARK? “Unsourced” does not mean “Not checkmarked on BTVA”. You need consensus on this policy and you don’t have it--Sarcathmo17 (talk) 17:56, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you want consensus, it's over at WP:ANIME/RS#Situational Unchecked means BTVA thinks it could be the person, but they haven't provided any evidence to confirm it. When they checkmark, they usually do it with a screencap of the closing credits, cast announcements, twitter exchanges, forum messages, and the person's website/resume. In the meantime, I have added Dr. Drakken / Kim Possible to the credits as that can be sourced by Terrace's book. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 19:25, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No, a green checkmark DOES NOT mean they “think” it’s the voice, it just means they haven’t posted the credits to prove it. You do not have consensus to say that John DiMaggio did not voice Dr. Drakken or King Zog. You removed every source that wasn’t BTVA, so to call it unsourced is a lie.--Sarcathmo17 (talk) 21:13, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I comment out the entries that were not sourced by reliable sources such as those that would appear in IMDb. WP:IMDB/RS I also replaced King Zog and Drakken with other articles that list him as the voice for those characters. If you can find other sources for them then cite those. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:21, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Why would we need consensus as to whether he voiced a character or not? We need to see that it is verified. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 21:24, 23 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

My edits have been reverted[edit]

I used the hyperlinks of some characters into the Fandom pages of them and then someone reverted my edits. But why? Lazar Alabic 2005 (talk) 14:09, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
