As a person interested in History, I have found it very fun to look into my own families past. In doing so I have come acrossed some sources that could clarify this article and also add some interesting details. All of the facts I will put forth come from the book "Genealogy of the decendants of Banfield Capron, from a.d. 1660 tp a.d.1859." by Frederic A. Holden. Copywrite 1859 and Published by Geo. C. Rand & Avery. I was able to purchase a copy of this online in PDF format. Breifly, Banfield stowed away on a ship with 3 others when they were approx. 14 years old. Later he was thrice married 1st to a lady with the last name of Callender, their first son was Banfield jr. Banfield Sr fathered 12 children and lived to age 92. Banfield jr. First married Hannah Jenckes and had 8 children, the 2nd oldest was Charles. Hannah and the 6 youngest children all died of the fever within 2-3 month in 1738. Banfield jr. remarried and had 4 more children. Charles who married Mary Scott and had 11 children, the 9th of which was John Capron Sr. John Sr. married Asenath Cargill, they had 10 children, the 8th was John Willard Capron, his brother Effingham was nearly 6 years older than him. John jr. married Abigail M. Read, they had 2 children and after her death he remarried to Catharine Messinger and they had 5 children. Just a couple of other fun facts, there is a "Capron Avenue" in Arlington National Cemetary. On it is a Headstone for Allyn Capron and his Father. Allyn was one of the first American casualties of the Spanish-American War.Norpac61 (talk) 06:04, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
