Death made headlines in Europe[edit]

"Because silent film had no language barrier, Bunny's popularity was such that his death was front-page news in Europe as well as the United States." To me this seems unlikely as the German Army was crossing into Poland after the defeat of the Russian's at Mansuarian Lakes on this date. Is there a source? It also seems strangely not NPOV. Overall this article has some issues. If I do not hear a rebuttal in the next few days I will fix the above statement and clean up this article. Paragoalie (talk) 11:31, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the quoted sentence in the above, from the "Death" section, needs an inline citation in that section. Though I do not have an issue with the 'statement' being "unlikely" (events do not always mean a lessening or loss of popularity, especially if the subject was not related to whom was being fought against - - - at the time, the U.S. was not 'involved' in WWI), I think that 'what' the sentence claims does need verification and if it can't be confirmed, should be removed. 2600:8800:786:A300:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 05:53, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
