Did you know... that when hired as CEO of Rocket Chemical Company, John Barry changed its name to WD-40 to match its primary product, whose name came from "water displacement, formulation successful in 40th attempt"?

WS 40 Developed for the Space Program?[edit]

The product was developed for use by Convair on the SM-65 Atlas, which was developed for use as an ICBM. Only later was it re-tasked to satellite launch and then the Mercury program.
