Untitled[edit]

I will ask for a review of this article upon its completion. Until then, leave the bio rating as a ???, since it will most likely change. I know it'd be a start right now but hopefully it'll be at least a B-class article when I'm done.--Wizardman 22:30, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest submitting this for a GA review. It's very solid. I'm not going to rate it higher until it's been submitted for GA, but I'd probably pass it right now. --Bookworm857158367 00:30, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can haz moar srcs?[edit]

The article appears to rely heavily on Amos R. Webber's Life of John Baldwin for factual evidence. Only one footnote does not cite that source, at present. This person appears significant enough that there should be other works mentioning him. Perhaps someone with access to the schools he founded could check inside their libraries. ~ Jafet Speaker of many words 07:13, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been reviewed as part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles/Project quality task force in an effort to ensure all listed Good articles continue to meet the Good article criteria. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed, listed below. I will check back in seven days. If these issues are addressed, the article will remain listed as a Good article. Otherwise, it may be delisted (such a decision may be challenged through WP:GAR). If improved after it has been delisted, it may be nominated at WP:GAN. Feel free to drop a message on my talk page if you have any questions, and many thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this article thus far.

  1. The lead of the article does not satisfy WP:LEAD. The second paragraph is just a replica of the first. Please, wright a new lead of apprppriate length. In addition, which would eventually merge into Baldwin-Wallace College. is not mentioned in the main text.
  2. he joined the Methodist Church, whose influence led him through the academy What academy?

Ruslik_Zero 15:28, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll fix point 1 in a couple days. As for point 2, I'm not sure which academy, since unfortunately I don't have the sources on me at this time, and won't for another couple months. Wizardman 15:03, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Rewrote the lead. Wizardman 15:13, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can the academy be a military academy? Ruslik_Zero 07:55, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Based on my research, it's possible but unlikely, since he didn't seem like the military type. I imagine academy = private school, so I'll reword. Wizardman 20:38, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Passed. Ruslik_Zero 09:14, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
