The infobox was completely broken. I fixed that. I couldn't get the date format in the infobox to display in European format, so I changed the date format in the lead to match it. If there's a way to change the template to display in European format, then it should probably be done so. I also added a few sources and linked the awards. I can't find any details on his year of birth. The article variously listed it as different values, so I went with the information from the NYT article. He was listed several places in this article as a feature film director, but reliable sources contradict this. I removed mention of it. I tried to expand the article, but there's very little information available. The notability guidelines seem clear on award-winning artists; however, there's very little to say.
