Missing links...[edit]

Great article on my great uncle, but there are a couple of important links that are missing. For instance, Joe's brother was Luke Sewell, the infamous manager of the '44 Browns, and when Joe first broke into the majors, he was called up to replace Ray Chapman, a Cleveland Indians shortstop who was killed when he was hit in the head by a pitch.
