Untitled[edit]

I am the orginal author of this article. Another editor has pointed out some possible inconsistencies in some of the source material. I have attempted to clean up these inconsistencies by eliminating references to specific radio stations in the section on Beatles coverage. This editor has deleted the entire section on Beatles coverage multiple times, even though this section is a large part of what makes the subject a notable figure, and then accuses me of vandalizing the page when I re-post the amended section. I deleted the section because it directly quoted a newspaper article that had an incorrect timeline to begin. Direct quoting of sources is a violation of copyright. Incorrect sources should be weeded out as references. Check [1] and [2] to see that the originally published timeline could not be correct. -- Elaich talk 18:14, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here is a better timeline of Jim Stagg's career as evidenced by airchecks. [3]. As you can see, there is a gap of about a year between the last KYW aircheck, and the first WCFL one. Other sources have told me that Ken Draper went to WCFL about the first of June in 1965, and that Stagg was the first KYW DJ to follow him. Another story told was that after the FCC ordered KYW back to Philadelphia and WKYC was born, all contracts became void, and all KYW employees became free agents. This would also jibe with the approximate date of June 1. -- Elaich talk 03:37, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright Vios[edit]

While doing some research, I found a transcript of Jim Stagg's Chicago Tribune obituary at:

http://kaay1090.blogspot.com/2007/11/not-from-kaay-but-one-of-my-favorites.html

Quite a bit of the material apparently entered not long after his passing was copied from the news story. I will be trying to correct these violations.

Think I have removed all the copied material now.

Name[edit]

Staggs or Stagg? Both are used in the article and talk page, indiscriminately and without explanation. On the music program on Chicago in the 60's he called himself "Jim Stagg," and the call-in "The Stagg Line," despite his actual name being "Staggs." Was there any consistency in his own usage?
