Pokémon Voicing

What evidence is there that Jim Cummings will be in the new Pokémon movie? It makes zero sense for him to be in it. --PAK Man 03:04, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Anastasia ?

I'm somewhat confused about Jim Cummings' voice work in Anastasia being mentioned in the section about his work at Disney as Anastasia was produced by 20th Century Fox. It sounds like he was doing it for Disney. I'm not sure if it was meant to or not though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gehm8706 (talkcontribs) 03:32, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Jim Cummings as Texas Pete in the new Superted film

Hopefully, Jim Cummings will do a voice of Texas Pete. But they haven't put the date on the new Superted film yet. Anyway, it's going to be great because i think Jim Cummings might like Texas Pete from Superted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.70.121 (talk) 12:58, 30 June 2012 (UTC)

made-up edits

The Career section of the article references a "2015 Disney Hasbro and Universal film, The Nature Vacations of Pokémon, Animals, Friendship Ponies and Dinosaurs" which Mr. Cummings allegedly did voice work for. As far as I can tell, no such movie has ever been in production. This reference is unsupported by a citation and, I believe, is completely made-up. It's been years since I've edited Wikipedia (under a different IP address); so while I will attempt to remove the incorrect information, I am also adding this note for future reference. 50.182.111.133 (talk) 23:06, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Emphasis on "Pete" character

He is known for voicing the title character from Darkwing Duck, Dr. Robotnik from Sonic the Hedgehog, and Pete. His other characters include Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and the Tasmanian Devil.

I'd assert that any of the characters from the 2nd sentence are more noteworthy than "Pete" who I had to click on this page just to figure out who he is. Thoughts? Ktoth04 (talk) 17:14, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

So? It is still not a WP:RS. You are interpreting (WP:SYNTH) what you are hearing from a WP:PRIMARY source. You need WP:SECONDARY sourcing stating that he is providing the voice. MarnetteD|Talk 20:01, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

His spouse section needs to be fixed back. Cummings and his wife are not divorced, an unknown user edited all that in there without sourcing it out. There's no source that confirms they divorced in 2011, neither. Also the en dash in the years active section needs to be fixed from "-" to "–" 2600:1000:B00A:7440:F862:C81F:C847:B60F (talk) 03:07, 30 May 2019 (UTC)

Ex-Wife Abuse Accusations and Official Response

Since it seems several edits attempting to include this information have been removed, odd not to see any mention of it whatsoever here on the talk page.

Reviewing WP:BLP, WP:PUBLICFIGURE and WP:SUSPECT, I'm not sure that "Wikipedia is not a tabloid" edit summary is a good enough justification for removing any and all mention of the allegations. Jim Cummings is a public figure, the accusations were reported in trustworthy sources and he's even released an official response. As long as it's NPOV and well sourced, what's the issue here? --WilliamTravis (talk) 06:27, 2 June 2019 (UTC)

I would like to make the point that Mrs. Cummings' accusations have never been substantiated with any solid evidence provided to judge in the legal proceedings between Mr. and Mrs. Cummings and/or to the local or national media so basically its really a she said/he said situation and to put anything about these accusations on Wikipedia is grossly inappropriate and could be construed as defamation and/or slander against one or both parties. Besides that this is their personal business and in my opinion it has no place on Wikipedia under any circumstances. YborCityJohn (talk) 21:07, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

First time voicing Pooh?

This article says "In 1983, the increasing illness of longtime Winnie the Pooh voice actor Sterling Holloway led to an open call to replace him for the movie Winnie the Pooh and a Day for Eeyore. Cummings offered an uncanny substitute, and was hired for his first voice actor job." But the article on the movie says Hal Smith provided the voice (as does the Hal Smith article). IMDb has Cummings' first outing as Pooh in a 1988 video release (Tigger-ific Tales). Powers T 22:17, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Hal Smith also provided the voice of Pooh throughout the series "Welcome to Pooh Corner" which directly preceded "The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", so it was him that Cummings succeeded in 1988, not Sterling Holloway as the article still states. 165.166.92.130 (talk) 14:48, 21 May 2022 (UTC)

Too much detail in "abuse" section

We don't need to go into every "he said, she said" detail in the section about the alleged abuse. Just hit the important highlights and leave the rest in the sources. Too much detail is WP:UNDUE for his biography. Elizium23 (talk) 00:52, 23 December 2020 (UTC)

You are correct Elizium23. Please proceed with the cleanup as you see fit. MarnetteD|Talk 02:00, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
Honestly, I would like to see the whole section removed, I don't think its relevant or even appropriate to be included on Wikipedia. Just my personal opinion though. YborCityJohn (talk) 22:54, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
The allegations seem to have no mention in the article at all at this point, which seems an over-correction. It is an aspect of him that has been covered by the media. https://people.com/crime/winnie-the-pooh-voice-actor-jim-cummings/

Not a singer

I endorse the removal of descriptions of him as a singer. He has no albums released, no credits as a singer, no sourced description of singing in film roles, so I do not see how it is plausible that we could describe him as a singer in the lede and infobox.
