Places as opposed to United States?

Why is Jericho in the United States not included in Jericho in places? The United States is still made up of places. Is there a reason for the separation? George C 17:23, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

A change has been made, but it still doesn't answer my question as to why the USA deserves to be separated from the rest of the world in a list of places. George C 16:42, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Off-hand, I'd guess it is to avoid listing "United States" repeatedly. The other nations only have one "Jericho" each. --Ckatz^chat_spy 17:11, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

misstates the principle cited above. There must one link to the missing article, and there must also be another articles with, as i would put it, enuf info about the topic (the place, in this case) to make it worth a user following the link to read that info. (In the case of Lambton Shores, IMO the mere mention of Jericho, Ontario in a list is suitable to a hierarchical table of provinces and their hierarchies of subdivisions, but does not amount to information worth consulting an encyclopedia to get: if that suffices for the user's need, they shouldn't waste their time navigating an encyclopedia to get it.)
