Who played their music?[edit]

Jem on The Hub[edit]

Logo change[edit]

I've placed a composite image from the opening sequence as the main image for the series, it shows both the main logo for the show and Jem. I believe it bests represents the show as a whole. Mitigating (talk) 17:12, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DVD releases[edit]

The problem with the DVD/VHS section is that there are at least 30+ different releases on VHS and DVD around the world, either they are all included or only English language releases are included. The current section contains some releases , although I reformatted the section it still provides a limited selection of the complete information. References and Tone[edit]

The page was tagged by an administrator for both original research and tone. I believe I have removed all the subjective statements which were all found in the current status section, whomever added the information provided their views for previously mentioned factual information that would not be considered proper for an encyclopedia. Many reference pointed to fan sites and were replaced or removed however, two reference to a fan site were left.

Both these references feature scans of the original material referenced, therefore regardless of the "status" of such a fan site the original material can be verified from these images. Article issues[edit]

Mitigating asked me to take a look at the article and see what else needs to be done to improve the article. After a brief look here are some of the most egregious issues:

  1. Redlinks - There are way too many, they need to be cleaned up. Please refer to WP:Write the article first

  2. Citations - There are bare references that should be changed to properly formatted ones. I suggest the {{Cite}} template

  3. Source Quality - There are several references to blogs and other user generated sources such as IMDb which are not considered quality source material.
    This is a tough one, sources slowly being converted to more reliable ones from new material.
  4. Too many citation needed templates - Some times users abuse this tag by hitting every sentence they don't like, as it appears to be the case here. If the information is available in the sources provided you can use those existing sources by calling on named sources. If the claim is found in an used source, just name the <ref> tag in the original source by adding the name="xxx" parameter and adding the <ref name="''xxx''"/> tag after the disputed claim.
    This is complete with the exception of material that might need citation that has not been identified yet.

Duplicate ref name[edit]

The article has two different references named "shoutdvdset". The second one I came across I renamed "shoutdvdset2", but I haven't the slightest clue which is meant to be used when the name is called elsewhere. --Kitsunegami (talk) 06:42, 21 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Two versions of Truly, Truly, Truly Outrageous?[edit]

Okay is there two versions of Truly Outrageous? Because the opening is completely different to the closing, but according to this article they're both Truly Outrageous. Would anyone be willing to say what's going on there? 70.29.79.177 (talk) 14:40, 2 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There are two openings and two ending sequences. The first opening is featured on about half the episode and is called "Truly Outrageous", the second is called "Jem Girls". The first ending sequence used during the very early episodes is an instrumental song that I do not know the name of. Vicki Sue Robinson[edit]

Around a decade ago, I e-mailed vickisuerobinson.com and pointed them to an audio file of the Stingers' song, "Destiny", in order to settle a rumor. The person that wrote back said that was Vicki Sue Robinson singing (as Rapture) along with her long-time collaborator, Gordon Grody (as Riot). Might wanna add that to the article.

In addition, there was concern that someone else might have done Minx's singing voice, since (it's claimed) she sounds different than Rapture's singing voice. Tuxedo Mark (talk) 19:25, 17 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gordon Grody Link[edit]

@WikkanWitch, Mike at Sidejobr, and MikeJonesSJ: I've noticed a slow motion back and forth edit war with Mike (using a couple of accounts) repeatedly trying to change a link from thumbtack.com to sidejobr.com and then WikkanWitch citing WP:PROMOTION and turning it back. Although I agree with WikkanWitch that this behavior is on the wrong side of the policy, I can't say that I'm particularly inspired by the reliability of thumbtack.com either. Both websites like commercial websites consistently entirely of identical promotional material written by the subject. I've replaced the reference with a brand new source from the book The Rocklopedia Fakebandica by T. Mike Childs. This is a third party source for the claim and seems to be unambiguously more reliable. Let's keep it there. —mako๛ 17:58, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Concept Artist for Jem[edit]

Sharon Knettell is the artist who created the look of Jem. Her art is featured on Hasbro's doll and playset boxes as well as the posters. I think this information should be included, but it keeps getting removed. Division of show into seasons[edit]

According to Christy Marx herself on Facebook, the show was produced as a single order of 65 episodes. There was never any official division of the show into seasons by the producers or broadcasters. All "seasons" since then have been made up by distributors (Shout Factory & Rhino) after the fact, which is why the distributors don't agree on what the seasons are.

Given these facts, all mention of seasons should be removed from Jem-related Wikipedia articles, except in the section on home video releases. 98.234.13.133 (talk) 22:06, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
