Sound FX on Fx[edit]

I corrected the part about his time on Sound Fx back in the 1990's. It said the show as about parenting and such, but it was actually a music series with Orlando Jones and Karen Bryant- I noted Orlando Jones being a cohost because he's much more well known than Bryant.50.30.155.95 (talk) 07:51, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

His divorce[edit]

I've reverted the edit that changed Probst's divorce from being from his wife of five years to from his wife five years ago. The original statement had been around for over a year, so I figure the former is the intended meaning. If I am the one misinterpreting something, we can discuss it here. --Maxamegalon2000 05:53, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

one-time?[edit]

What does the phrase "one-time" refer to in the opening paragraph? TheHYPO 00:17, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stub Nomination[edit]

This biography is fairly short and undetailed. I usually stay away from biographies so this may be the norm. However, this article feels like a stub and I would like to nominate it as such. Robotempire 08:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Universal Life Church ordination?[edit]

I don't see why this is even relevant or remarkable. Anyone can be ordained as a ULC minister at the click of a mouse button. I'm a ULC minister too (not that I've ever used it for anything. I'm an atheist anyway). Why mention it? 203.73.234.115 04:45, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would say because he used it to remarry his parents. --Maxamegalon2000 05:01, 30 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Besides officiating at his parents' recommitment ceremony, Probst officiated at Jenna Fisher's wedding in 2010 and has mentioned he is an ordained minister during a 2016 episode of Survivor. With the fact of his ordination being mentioned by various media reports every couple of years, it is plausible that people will come to this article looking for confirmation or additional details. It seems reasonable to include a mention, but anything more than a single sentence is bordering on overkill. --Jester 12:59, 27 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Born 1961 or 1962[edit]

There seems to be much conflicting information on the web regarding Jeff Probst's birthdate. It is apparently either 1961 or 1962, depending on where you look. This article started with a 1962 birth date. It was initially changed to 1961 by an anonymous user on April 1, 2005. It was changed back in October 2005 where it has mostly remained, except for several edits in Dec'06/Jan'07, and has again been changed several times since March of this year.

A Google search yields mixed results, with a slight favor torwards 1962. See search results for "Jeff Probst" plus "November 4, 1961" or "November 4, 1962" or just plan old "November 4".

Some sample sites showing 1961 include:

Others sample sites showing 1962 include:

Unfortunately, simply counting the references and choosing the most popular does not necessarily yield the correct answer. This is especially true since web sites (especially fan sites) tend to feed on each other's information. One more thing - the WaybackMachine shows that IMDB once showed 1962, but that was changed to 1961 sometime around January 2007.

Does anyone have what they consider to be a definitive source independent of the above web sites? -- Tcncv (talk) 02:34, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Recent reports of his marriage give his age as 50, which would mean 1961.

Removed link to Barbara Probst[edit]

She was born in 1964, so she can't be 3 years younger then her son. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.229.22.148 (talk) 19:55, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Le Cordon Bleu graduate?[edit]

This article is categorized under "Alumni of Le Cordon Bleu", but this isn't something that's mentioned in the body text, and I haven't been able to track down any external sourcing for this claim. Could we remove this categorization? Mister Skeleton (talk) 03:28, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Misterskeleton, good catch. Categories should always be verifiable from the body of the article. I've removed it (also removed the German descent cat as not supported). Schazjmd (talk) 13:10, 5 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
