Iris Estelle Radcliffe Drew[edit]

Jane Drew was born as Iris Estelle Radcliffe Drew. The 1911 census of England and Wales, taken on the night of 2 April, recorded her as "Iris Estelle Radcliffe Drew", aged 10 days. Also on the form are the names of both parents and her sister and a servant. It seems unlikely and is surprising, but the evidence is there. As in the footnotes, the 1911 census is the proof, because the census was taken 10 days after she was born, and about two weeks before the registration of her birth. On her birth certificate, dated 27 April 1911, she is Joyce Beverly. Also in the footnotes, which were there. Please don't change something which seems unlikely. Notes on this were included but were ignored by whoever did not believe that she had a different birth name.

Comment: The first names must have been chosen by her father Harry Guy Radcliffe Drew as they contain the Radcliffe from his name. But then his wife must have decided to change this to Joyce Beverly, after her father, who was Samuel Beverly Jones.

Please note the spelling: her given names are Joyce Beverly, not Joyce Beverley. P0mbal (talk) 23:07, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV[edit]

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 02:41, 27 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting References into Notes and References[edit]

Wikipedia layout sample Notes and References

The References section has explanatory notes that have no citations. I think this article would benefit if we seperated the explanatory notes from the citation references like the illustration here to the side.
