Maazel's comments and criticism of Levine may be verified by any current member of the National Symphony Orchestra or New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

This does not meet Wikipedia's criterion for verifiability. References must be to reliable, published sources. Maazel's alleged remarks are not a published source, since they were allegedly made in private to a select group of musicians. Members of orchestras likewise are not published sources. See Wikipedia:Reliable sources. Note especially on that page:

If Numerous music critics and musicians have publicly criticized Levine, The Metropolitan Opera and the New York Times for covering up the incident, then this should be backed up by a direct link to their criticism. This "story" has all the indications of being a totally fabricated rumor based on petty professional jealousy. I'm going to report user 128.171.138.74 for IP blocking if he/she adds undocumented allegations of molestation again.

I'm reporting 128.171.138.XXX for IP blocking at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. 128.171.138.XXX, whoever you are, you have been warned several times that a newsgroup posting (which is all that your link [1] points to) is not sufficient basis for making such grave allegations against a public figure. Even if it were, the link does not back up the allegations you make: the link just reports "rumors" about Levine while your edit unequivocally claims that he has engaged in molestation. It is noteworthy that Greg Sandow, who is alleged to be the source of these allegations, hasn't made them on his own homepage at http://www.gregsandow.com

While I certainly have no proof of any misconduct of James Levine, I did hear many stories - in graphic detail - of his behavior from a fellow musician who hung out with other NY musicians. Potentially problematic structuring and treatment of Sexual Assault Allegations.[edit]

It seems to me that the article as it currently stands appears to be biased in favor of James Levine. It alternates between not addressing and casting doubt over the allegations. Examples of possible bias in the writing include the "See also: Me too movement," which implies that he just got "caught up" as a victim of the movement. Also, words like "accuser" and "allegations" are strongly overused. Additionally, the article seems to treat the accusations very insularly; no reference is made to them outside in sections where such references would be apt, such as the Work with Students section. Concerning words like "accuser" and "allegations" - nothing has even been proven in a court of law, so I don't think it's possible to go beyond those words. As far as "work with students" - most of the people who have come forward have been from the early part of Levine's career when he was more or less a colleague (or perhaps advanced colleague) and not in a position of power that would be typical of teacher-student relationships.- kosboot (talk) 12:39, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree with the OP; imo, the the situation is extremely visible and present in the article, in just exposure alone. The Sexual assault allegations is almost half the article; the entire fourth paragraph of the lead discusses this, as does the third sentence of the article. If anything, too much weight is given to the topic, but perhaps this is because that topic is also the most developed in the article. That "See also: Me too movement" comment, is kind of catered to support your perspective; it's there so that readers can have a quick link to see other situations similar to this. We don't know if this would have occurred were it not for Me Too, but it certainly seems less likely. As such, the situation is part of the movement as a whole; and there wouldn't be so much space and information discussing it, were he just "caught up" in it. Regardless, the Me Too information can probably be inserted into the article more naturally, but I really struggle to see how not doing so at the moment is NPOV.
