Untitled[edit]

The reference to Reagan has what relevance?

None, except to imply that Reagan was racist.

The summary says that he was only listed as "Black Passenger" in Mississippi Burning, which is true, but according to the Wikipedia page on Mississippi Burning: "Neither production gave the real names of the murderers, due to legal considerations, and Mississippi Burning does not mention the victims (who are referred to as "The Boys") by name in the film. In the film credits they are simply identified as "Goatee" based on Michael Schwerner played by Geoffrey Nauffts, "Passenger" based on Andrew Goodman played by Rick Zieff and "Black Passenger" based on James Chaney played by Christopher White." ...it was therefore not intended as an affront to his work as an activist that the movie listed him as such.

Images[edit]

Since this is an article about Chaney, I think the image of the local memorial should come first. (it also looks better graphically on the page.) Parkwells (talk) 16:12, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Murder is a work of fiction taken from other Wiki pages of fiction. Low importance in reality[edit]

NOTE--I live 22 miles from the murder site. Most of the articles written about the murders are fictional or unproven. 130313 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.239.21.253 (talk) 02:25, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That may be so, but in order to add information to this article, especially information of this magnitude, you need to find it published in a reliable source.--Dudemanfellabra (talk) 03:26, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Religion[edit]

The documentary Mafia vs. KKK identified James Chaney as a Catholic. The article itself also references Chaney attending a Catholic school. If this is so, it should be added to the article, or the article should be placed under the category African-American Catholics. TomUSA 05:59, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
