Notability[edit]

I am surprised the reviewer of the draft rejected the "notability" of James Cardwell citing WP:CREATIVE. The appropriate notability criteria here is surely WP:NACTOR. The subject had significant roles in at least four movies (The Sullivans, Sweet and Low-Down, A Walk in the Sun, and He Walked By Night) that were nominated for Oscars or various other awards. There are far more obscure actors who have articles in Wikipedia. Muzilon (talk) 23:39, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@ Robert McClenon - Thanks for your feedback on the draft. I have removed the sentence you suggested. Sorry, the available sources don't indicate why Cardwell didn't serve in WW2. However, he was married at the time so I doubt his alleged latent homosexuality had anything to do with it. (John Alvin, one of Cardwell's married co-stars in The Sullivans, apparently didn't fight in the war either.) Apart from J.P. Dennis there seem to be no other references to Cardwell being gay, actually. Muzilon (talk) 03:40, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
