Tighten Up Some Claims

"By 1980, many of the older local musicians had died, and Donegal music was being played only in isolated pubs." Much of the fiddle music in Donegal was (and still is) played in houses rather than pubs (pub sessions being a recent innovation, and being more associated with traditional music as it occurs in towns). Through most of the Gaeltacht pub sessions are where you will find younger players, the old people still play in each others houses.

"the legendary fiddler, Tommy Peoples"; since this is an encyclopaedia article rather than a fawning newspaper article, I think that the term "legendary fiddler" can safely be omitted. Tommy Peoples is not fictional and can be just as well referred to by the title 'fiddler' (it's the term he uses himself!)

"His style is the old Donegal style." There was not just one "old Donegal style", which is implied by your use of "the". There are several old traditional styles in Donegal which are not the same style as James Byrne's style.
