Dead Man's Leg?[edit]

I'm British and never heard of roly-poly being called Dead Man's Arm/Leg. It kinda makes some sense, but I can't find any reference to it except on some American sites. If no-one can provide a reference I'm inclined to remove this. Gymnophoria (talk) 13:32, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Type[edit]

In America, would this constitute as a Swiss Roll cake? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.11.214.10 (talk) 08:41, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That happens in Europe too, and is something quite different (much lighter, for a start). Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:44, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
In the UK, a Swiss roll is made with butter, it is baked, and is eaten as a cake at tea time. A roly poly pudding (jam roly-poly) is made with suet, it is steamed, and is eaten as a dessert at dinner. The two dishes look and taste quite different. Storye book (talk) 09:11, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
