The article should mention that unit and its part in the Italian-Polish history. This is the reason Italy is mentioned in the Polish national anthem(which is a fact likely worth mentioning here as well). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Done--Dans (talk) 11:55, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He wasn't Italian, so some explanation would be useful.Xx236 (talk) 08:38, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, he was born in today's Canton Ticino at the border with today's Italy, around the date of the annexation by the Confederation, and he's stiled as Polish-Italian renaissance architect. He took part in the culture of Italian renaissance, as many other famous architects coming from Ticino (maestri ticinesi) who worked in the whole Northern Italy. So, I think that his figure may well be mentioned in the historical relations between Italy and Poland. He can also righteously be considered in the Swiss-Polish relations: cultural belonging is not exclusive.--Dans (talk) 11:46, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
So I have added (from Ticino) after his name.Xx236 (talk) 12:58, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Being he from Ponte Tresa in early 1500s, I also come to doubt he considered himself as being from Ticino. Probably the most correct denomination would be lombard, as by that time the notion of Lombardy encompassed the whole Po Valley, non distinguishing between local rulers. But I have no particular sources about this artist, so I cannot say with more precision. --Dans (talk) 21:14, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

włoszczyzna[edit]

How to explain the word "włoszczyzna"? "Italianeries"?Xx236 (talk) 13:16, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

wiki says Mirepoix :), but I've never heard it before, and I really doubt the interlink is correct --Dans (talk) 21:16, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Mirepoix is French last name.Xx236 (talk) 09:42, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Marigold[edit]

"free elections under international control before 2 years" - where? In Northern Vietnam? Impossible. BTW Polish - communst diplomats were strictly controlled, so Moscow was involved.Xx236 (talk) 09:51, 24 January 2011 (UTC) http://www.mtholyoke.edu/acad/intrel/moscviet.htm Xx236 (talk) 09:52, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Soviet nulla osta to the talks is likely. Elections were part of the agreement, this does not necessarily mean that they would have been put in place as agreed. My sources are mainly from Italian diplomats (D'Orlandi's diary and Mario Sica's later report), so further contributions are welcome. BTW, I think that the whole Marigold operation would deserve a page for itself.--Dans (talk) 10:43, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another item I'd recommend incorporating. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 01:04, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gap[edit]

There is an interesting 1918-1943 gap in the 20th century history section. 98.143.74.136 (talk) 15:43, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
