Um...there needs to be a major addition here of the break-up of the band due to the divorce, and the huge legal fight that went on that caused the first record to be out of print for a long time, big collector's item for many years, etc. Tvccs 11:35, 19 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Were there 2 different versions of their first LP? The comment above says it went out of print for awhile, so I'm wondering if the later release was mixed differently or contained any different performances, because I seem to recall hearing a difference between 2 LPs that looked the same (at least superficially). It's amazing that some 37 years later, White Bird is still played on really good radio stations across the county, and it's still a joy to hear it all these many, many years. TJV, January 2007

Their 1971 album Choice Quality Stuff/Anytime had a title for each side. Choice Quality Stuff tracks were: Creed Of Love, Bye Bye Baby, The Grand Camel Suite, No Word For Glad, Lady Love, and Words. Personnel were: David LaFlamme, vocal and violin, Patti Santos, vocal, Fred Webb, vocal and organ, Billy Gregory, guitar, Tom Fowler, bass, Val Fuentes, drums, Bruce Steinberg, harmonica, Mitchell Holman, bass, Rolf "Boots" Stuart, flute, Bill Atwood, trumpet, Van Hughes, trombone, Robert Ferriera, sax, Charles Peterson, sax, Sid Page, violin, Coke Escovedo, congas, Gregg Rolie, piano. - Anyone with another disc should start a discography. 99.247.111.69 02:20, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've put this into my TODO list, this article needs a little work to get it into Start class. The basics are here now. Also need to mention the cover of "white Bird" by Vanessa Mae --Rodhullandemu 19:44, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article states: "July 5, 1970, the band played the (second) Atlanta International Pop Festival in Byron, GA to an estimated 250,000 people. Linda sang lead on "White Bird", "Hot Summer Day" and "The Dolphin Song"."

This sounds wrong - David LaFlamme and Pattie Santos sang lead vocals on the White Bird album. Linda only sang backup. It would be great if someone could verify who sang lead at the Atlanta Pop Festival.

It is wrong, and thus unnecessary to include. Linda LaFlamme never sang lead vocals. Pattie Santos shared lead vocals with David LaFlamme from the beginning, but often in a more backing role. They also did a lot of call-and-response pieces together. All of this certainly applied in 1970 during the Atlanta Pop Festival. After David left the band in 1972 her lead vocals become a bit more prominent, but by then she was sharing them with Bud Cockrell. --Socalville (talk) 10:28, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Image deleted as it's already on the eponymous album's page. --Rodhullandemu 19:42, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copy of David Laflamme to be merged here[edit]

  • Have decided not to do this as his own page is linked from other articles, albeit short ones. --Rodhullandemu (talk - contribs) 17:38, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Date[edit]

Any particular reason why the photo is claimed to be from 1974 in the caption when according to the file description page on Commons there is a 1972 date stamp? Vinguru (talk) 15:53, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's a 1972 photo, which includes Tom Fowler and David LaFlamme's recent replacements Bud Cockrell (vocals, bass) and Gregory Bloch (violin). Performance was August 18 at The Warehouse in New Orleans. Socalville (talk) 09:56, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Matthew Katz (Sfsound)[edit]

Have any Wikipedia editors ever thought about restricting or banning Matthew Katz (Sfsound) from continuing his disruptive edits of the "It's a Beautiful Day" page? Ebw343 (talk) 07:58, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
