I've edited the article (please don't use the term "Slovakia" or the newly invented place-names in historical text), but there's one more problem: I don't see that "Catholic fundamentalism" would present a negative image of Islam in Central Europe. I don't think people has such image either in Slovakia or in Hungary (see the monument of Suleyman at Szigetvár, etc.) 195.56.30.68 01:42, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Especially about the monument were heavy and almost violent disputes, and even US State departement Report about Religious Freedom mention such an athmosphere including referendum against Muslim settlements and Mosque-buildings. In those points Hungary, Czech and Slovakia is different from the rest of Central Europe. --Roksanna 06:31, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not NPOV[edit]

The Slovak engagement to support USA in its war against Muslims in Iraq more alienate Slovak Muslims from their government´s policy.
This is not neutral at all. I am going to remove it, but I don't know how to change it, because I don't know of a source on how Slovak muslims feel about the Iraqi war. Jmartinez

There is an interview (The Slovak Spectator, TSS) mit the Bratislava Imam Mohamed Safwan Hasan (MSH). He exactly said the same. --Roksanna 11:00, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am taking your word for it, and am showing the perception of that Imam. However, I couldn't find the article you posted. Is there a link?
  • TSS: Do you think Slovakia's foreign policy alienated the local Muslim community?
  • MSH: It's hard to judge, because I don't know the opinions of all. I don't think they were thrilled by this attitude.

It´s from here: http://www.slovakspectator.sk/clanok-15246.html --Roksanna 15:59, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that the Imam response was not around alienation of Muslims, as I thought he felt, so I changed it [Rmartinez]

I seems you are wrong. At least this was exactly the question, and of course he did answer diplomatically. --Roksanna 21:36, 15 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mosque in Slovakia[edit]

There was an unsourced address on Stare Grunty in Bratislava for a mosque, however there is no Slovak language site which says there is a mosque there (search mesita Bratislava) just one or two general English language tourist sites which also give no sources (and most likely are based on this wiki). Perhaps there was once a mosque there, but we are regularly told that there is no mosque in Slovakia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:130:400:1660:8CAB:D46D:151F:3E49 (talk) 08:31, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To continue the above - doing a direct search on the address turns up some Czech language sites using the term modlitebna - prayer room. The references pre-date other Slovak languages sources saying there is no mosque, so it seems to be some kind of meeting place rather than a mosque. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:130:400:1660:8CAB:D46D:151F:3E49 (talk) 08:36, 28 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
