Questions?[edit]

OK, so I wonder, what is the diference between a "district", and an "administrative divisions"?

To be specific; what is the difference between:

and:

etc.

Anyone? User:Makeandtoss? Huldra (talk) 20:23, 16 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Huldra: Governorates in Jordan are administratively divided into Liwas and Qadas, which are translated in the census report into districts and subdistricts. Both Bani Kinanah articles talk about the same district of Irbid. Al-Kurah is also a district in Irbid. Irbid has nine districts: Bani Kinanah, Al-Kurah, Qasabat Irbid, Ramtha, Northern Ghour, Bani Obeid, Northern Mazar, Teebah and Wasatiyya. Makeandtoss (talk) 07:05, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks User:Makeandtoss! Much appreciated. And I am sorry I was so tired yesterday, that I had typo in my post; I intended to write "Al-Kūrah and Al-Kourah District". From your answer, I assume they also are the same?
Looking into this, I think we have a problem: A (now banned user) made a lot of these articles, without checking if they already existed. So now we have to eg. do a merge of Al-Kūrah and Al-Kourah District, and Banī Kenānah and Bani Kinanah district.
We also have to do a lot of redirects, see eg Mafraq Governorate. But before we start cleaning up, perhaps we should agree to a common naming standard? Say, that all these "District-articles" are like the "Bani Kinanah district"-article, that is: all with "district" in their name? And without "non-standard" letters (like ū,ā etc)? What do you think? Also, is Al-Amiriyah, Jordan and ʽAmmuriya, Jordan the same place? Huldra (talk) 22:50, 18 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
