Interstate 840 (North Carolina)Interstate 840 – This is the only real Interstate 840 today. The dis-ambiguation page Interstate 840 has only 2 uses; this highway and a highway that's officially a state highway, and which nobody calls Interstate 840. • Support. If and when the other road becomes an interstate, we can reverse this move. -- Calidum 19:10, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Some people may consider the Tennessee Route as eventually becoming a Interstate highway, if not assumed it is already. If another Interstate 840 materializes in the future, the article would have to move back. --WashuOtaku (talk) 19:15, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support—per WP:TWODABS. A hatnote from this article pointing readers to the other one is sufficient. If another I-840 were to be created or the Tennessee highway were to be updated in designation, we'd have ample opportunity to reassess the situation. • Support - Seems logical. For those readers that may be either using false information (believing that it is already an interstate) or making the assumption that this is what the name will be eventually, a hatnote directing them to the TN page would be perfectly reasonable.--Yaksar (let's chat) 01:44, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support - making I-840 NC the primary topic with a hatnote to TN 840 is fine, though I don't mind the status quo. However, if I-840 is signed in TN or another state we would need to reverse this move. Dough4872 01:50, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment the Tennessee article says people called it Interstate 840 -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 05:59, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support — Until the Tennessee one is actually an Interstate, which may never happen, the North Carolina one is clearly the primary topic.  V 14:39, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. This is the only actual Interstate 840. kennethaw88talk 18:41, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Does the Tennessee route exist yet? No, it does not. When the Tennessee I-840 exists, we can move it back to this title. We can have a hatnote pointing to the TN 840 article. Epicgenius (talk) 22:46, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. As pointed out several times above, the other road is not an interstate. Should it become one, the move can be re-evaluated then. Egsan Bacon (talk) 21:19, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Completion date[edit]

Per this source, the Greensboro Urban Loop (and likely I-840) will be fully open on January 23rd, 2023. DiscoA340 (talk) 21:10, 18 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Old exit numbers[edit]

I looked on Google Street view, and it appears as though the exit numbers in the concurrency of I-73 and I-840 used to be based on I-840's mileage. Should there be column added to the exit list section that says "old exit" as well as one that says "new exit"? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 08:05, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, it was not that long amount of time and it was a small section. It would be simpler to note it in history than add stuff that would mostly be blank. --WashuOtaku (talk) 20:58, 11 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
