Interstate 57?[edit]

Would Interstate 57 be a major junction? It leads to Chicago or Memphis and hits I-64 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, half way between Evansville and St. Louis. --Dustin

They actually run together for a few miles, with 64 westbound and 57 northbound together, and 64 eastbound and 57 southbound. Mt. Vernon is in the middle of nowhere, but it may still be a major junction.--Bedford 22:48, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mt Vernon is indeed in the middle of nowhere, but this pair of interections are major junctions. In fact almost everytime I drive thru that area there's a traffic jam near the exit to the town between these junctions. Jon 18:37, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Missouri portion[edit]

  • The length listed (31 miles) is the future after construction to I-70 completes & not the current length); the miles have been signed from I-70 for years. (To avoid having to renumber all the exits when construction completes.) Jon 22:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • A few details on the ongoing reconstruction effort from the New I-64 site.
    • 2007: I-170 construction near 40, including ramps. (Open during construction). Several bridges reconstructed over 40 East of I-170
    • 2008: US-40 Closed from I-170 (exclusive) to western edge of project. Construction of I-170 continues open during construction. Several bridges reconstructed over 40 both West and East of I-170
    • 2009: US-40 Closed from I-170 (exclusive) to eastern edge of project. Construction of a few bridges over 40 East of I-170 continues.
    • 2010: Final completion of project by July 31. Little anticipated impact for this year.

Junctions[edit]

Should the junctions highway numbers go to the pages for the states' portion of the route or the whole route? NintendoTTTEfan2005 (talk) 07:27, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
